Welcome to The Taylor Gallery, London

We are now a web based Gallery specialising in Twentieth Century British Paintings including works by Edward Seago ,Sir Alfred Munnings, Montague Dawson, Sir William Russell Flint, Terence Cuneo, Norman Wilkinson and several others whose work may catch our eye from time to time. We also deal in 18th and 19th Century Marine and China Trade Paintings.

We no longer have any retail premises as the cost both in time and money has become prohibitive. Instead, we exhibit at the various Fine Art Fairs in London such as The British Antique Dealer Association in March, both the Olympia Fairs ( June and November ), L.A.P.A.D.A. At Berkeley Square in September, plus, we occasionally stage our own specialist shows at a rented Gallery in Cork Street. We will also show specific paintings, but only by prior appointment, at mutually convenient times and places.

Because we are continually selling our paintings, we are always interested to purchase either individual items or, whole collections. Although many Auction Houses charge the sellers 10% and the buyers 25% plus they charge for Catalogue illustrations and insurance without any guarantee of a sale, we do not charge any commission at all. We pay you on the day that the sale is agreed. Your sale is fast and certain.

Inevitably, our website is not always up to date, so, if you have a particular  requirement, it is always worth emailing jeremy@taylorgallery.com to see if we can help.

We celebrated the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of the establishment of The Taylor Gallery last year. It was a record year for us and particularly satisfying because over 50% of our sales were to repeat customers. This was partly because we only buy what we ourselves like ( which makes it so much easier to sell! ) and partly because we no longer have our Gallery in London's West End and so do not have to add the costs of maintaining expensive premises on to the price of our paintings.

The current turmoil in World Financial Markets is helping to keep us much busier than we thought we would be in the current year. With interest rates on bank deposits being virtually zero and Stock Markets being so volatile, some people are putting a proportion of their funds in to paintings from which they will get a daily dividend of enjoyment as well as perhaps a certain amount of protection from the rampant inflation that must surely follow as Governments print more and more money.

Because we do not borrow money to finance our stock of paintings, we are able to offer interest free extended payment terms to customers who do not necessarily have the liquid funds to pay in full on the first day. We take an initial Deposit of 25% and three cheques post dated one month apart. Once the last cheque has been cleared, we deliver the painting. In this way the customer can secure the painting he wants without risking it being sold elsewhere whilst he accumulates the necessary funds. The painting remains insured under our Lloyd's Open Cover until we deliver it to the customer. This method of payment has proved to be rather popular this year and we will continue to offer this service for so long as interest rates stay at their current levels.
